On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am delighted to announce that Annmarie Quezada has been appointed Esperanza Academy’s interim Head of School for the 2017-18 academic year.

Annmarie has excelled as the school’s Principal for the past two years. She brings considerable administrative experience and strong familiarity with our students and the traditions and daily routines of Esperanza. Annmarie has been the instructional leader of the school and has had supervisory responsibility for the faculty and staff. In addition, she planned and oversaw the extended day and STEAM programs.

Annmarie worked at St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers from 2002 to 2014. She taught AP Spanish Language and Literature, chaired the World Language Department and chaired the Council of Department Chairs. Annmarie also has eight years of teaching Spanish at a variety of middle schools including Miles River Middle School, Cape Ann Waldorf School and the Brookwood School. She began her career in international private banking working for Chase Manhattan and Bank of Boston specializing in South American clients.

Annmarie is a graduate of Boston College where she was a dual major in Spanish and Italian. She received her MAT in Spanish from Salem State University.

We are fortunate to have Annmarie Quezada lead Esperanza while the Board of Trustees launches a national search for a permanent Head of School to be in place by July, 2018.

As we move forward with confidence and commitment, we foresee a strong future for Esperanza Academy. We remain fully dedicated to our mission of providing a transformative education for our girls.
